Sep 2: BANGKOK – NAIROBI (L.D)
Depart Bangkok via KQ887 departing at 0120H and arriving Nairobi at 0610H
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Nairobi where you will be met after clearing with immigration formalities and briefed about your safari trip. You are then transferred to Four Points by Sheraton for check in. Lunch will be served. Visit the Giraffe Centre where you get the chance to feed the endangered Rothschild giraffes. Enjoy city tour in Nairobi. Dinner will be served at Carnivore Restaurant. Overnight at Four Points by Sheraton.
Sep 3: LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK (B,L,D)
After breakfast, drive to the Great Rift Valley viewing sceneries en-route. Lake Nakuru National Park was once described as the most fabulous bird spectacle in the world and it spans an attractive range of wooded and bush grassland around the lake, offering wide ecological diversity – from the lake waters, woodland to the rocky escarpment and ridges. After lunch, you will have an afternoon game drive which will give you the opportunity to view various wildlife both predatory and plains game, not forgetting the abundance of birdlife. This park also serves as home to both the white and black rhino. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.
Sep 4: LAKE NAIVASHA
Enjoy a last morning game drive in this beautiful park before departing for Naivasha Country Club arriving for lunch. After lunch, enjoy an hour boat ride. Lake Naivasha is surrounded by stands of papyrus and is birdwatchers paradise. Water birds exist in great variety and abundance. Fish eagle, herons and egrets, lily-trotters, red-knobbed coots and black crakes can be found within the area of this beautiful lake. In addition to the bird population, over 500 hippos reside in the lake. Overnight at Lake Naivasha Country Club.
Sep 5: MASAI MARA
After breakfast drive past the floor of the Great Rift Valley and past Narok to the Masai Mara National Reserve offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed a century ago. arrive in time for lunch at the camp/lodge.
Late afternoon/evening game drive in this world-renowned reserve, which stretches over 1510 sq km of open rolling grasslands, is watered by the Mara River and littered with an astonishing amount of wildlife. The ultimate attraction is undoubtedly the annual wildebeest migration which happened around July through to October when millions of these ungainly beasts move north from the Serengeti and spread across Masai Mara National Reserve. overnight at Keekorok Lodge.
Sep 6 & 7: MASAI MARA
Enjoy 2 full days in the Masai Mara with early morning game drives and afternoon game drives. All meals in the lodge.
The Mara is also noted for its abundance of lions – particularly the superb black manned makes. You’ll see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as – if you’re lucky – leopard, cheetah and rhino. It is home to Africa’s famous “big five” (Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Leopard, and Buffalo). You’re sure to see the African buffalo. Get the cameras ready, stock up on film, and joy yourselves! Overnight at Keekorok Lodge.
You also have an opportunity to go on a spectacular Optional Balloon Ride across the Masai Mara ($450 per person). The BALLOON SAFARI ADVENTURE begins in the pre-dawn hours and the magnificent view over the park is thrilling. Towards the end of the flight, you rise to a height of 1500 feet for a panoramic view of the twisting Mara River and the savannah below. After ab hour or so in the air, your safari finishes with a flourish: a champagne breakfast in the bush, cooked on the balloon’s burners! Please note that this is an optional extra cost not included in the main tour package.
Sep 8: MASAI MARA – CENTRAL SERENGETI
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip in time to connect you onward flight to the Seronera Airstrip in Serengeti. On arrival, your Tanzania driver guide will meet you for an enroute game drive to the lodge for lunch. Serengeti is undoubtedly the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for is natural beauty and the greatest concentration of plains game anywhere. This park is home of the largest concentrations of animals in Tanzania and is the southern extension of the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya. It is in this area that annual migration of Wildebeest accompanied by the predators take place (normally between June and September). Residents Wildebeest always dot the plains. Huge prides of lions live in the Mara; cheetahs are often found on the plains. There are large herds of elephants and buffalo and other plains animals are also to be found. Overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge.
Sep 9: NGORONGORO CRATER
Breakfast followed by a drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. With picnic lunches, descend to the conservation area and into the crater floor for the afternoon game drives. The Ngorongoro Crater is often called Africa’s Eden and the 8th Natural Wonder of the World, a visit to the crater is a main draw card for tourists coming to Tanzania and a definite world-class attraction. The Ngorongoro Conversation Area (NCA) is home of Ngorongoro Carter. It was formed some 2.5 million years ago from a volcanic mountain sinking due to inactivity, and was initially thought to be higher than Tanzania’s famous Kilimanjaro. The crater is actually a caldera, measure 22.5 km across and the rim walls stand 600m high. Views from within and from the rim are breath-taking. The crater houses 30,000 animals and a large variety of birds, which rarely move from the area du to the availability of water through wet and dry seasons. Overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.
Sep 10: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
Check-out and proceed to the Lake Manyara National Park for a late morning game drive. You can carry picnic lunches from Manyara Serena or eat an early lunch and proceed to the park. Late Manyara national park is at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment and comprises of forest, woodland, grasslands, and swamps. Gazelles; Impala; buffalo; wildebeest; the famous tree climbing lion; hyenas; baboon; giraffe; hippopotamus; and a great number of smaller mammals; 350 species of birds, storks and flamingos. Overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge.
Sep 11: LAKE MANYARA – KILIMANJARO AIRPORT
After breakfast you will be dropped at Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight vial KQ886 departing at 1510H arriving Nairobi at 1610H.
Sep 12: BANGKOK – MANILA
